Insurance cut-off date

I see your web site states "The insured must lodge a claim within 45 days after dispatching the insured letter/parcel."

It is now already 31 days since my parcel PE786404176ZA (posted 11 Feb in East London) was dispatched. So must I lodge a claim in case I don't receive my parcel in the next 2 weeks? What if I had lodged a claim and my parcel shows up? I would still rather have my parcel than the compensation.
