Heat pump faulty while under warranty

I had a heat pump installed in August 2012 by Hitemp, in February this year the pump tripped and did not want to start up again. I phoned Mr Matthew Miller who installed the unit and was told that I had to phone Mr Glen Symes who is their technical guy. Mr Symes then told me that I had to pay them R 1755.60 so they could come out and check the unit even though it is still under warranty, Traveling to which I agree, but Labour to which I don't agree. i made the payment and two days later Mr Miller shows up and says that he doesnt know what the fault is but he ail take the unit to Mr Symes to check. After four days of no feedback i phoned Mr Symes and he, without even seeing or testing the unit, tells me that the compressor is burnt out and I now have to pay R11 381.00 to replace the compressor (the whole unit with blanket cost R 19 410) He reckons it was because of a voltage drop at my house that the compressor burnt out and even though it is still under warranty I have to pay to have it fixed. I was also told to get a good lawyer to fight them to have the unit repaired as they would not repair it. none of my other appliances was damaged, so how can it be that only the unit breaks.
