Sabc Tv Licence
Unwarranted harassment

For more that a decade now SABC, through its collecting agent (s), has been asking me to settle some TV licence fees that I don't know of. I have explained to them many times that I have never owned a TV licence and that the one that we have, has always been in my wife's name and that we are married in community of property. On around 18 June 2012, after another query, Phiwe Sabani from the Audience Services Division, Tel. 011 330 9555, requested from me a marriage certificate in order for them to either merge or cancel one account. I duly obliged and there followed a period of silence. On 14 February 2013 I received yet another email requesting me to pay R6650.40 for unpayed TV licence fees. The marriage certificate has been ignored. This is harassment and I demand that the SABC and/or the attorneys it uses to contact me pays me compensation for psychological damage caused by this persecution. Please, helo peter, help. Should you require any further particulars, please, do not hesitate to contact me.
