I have had the same treatment from the SABC regarding my TV licence. They contacted me via e-mail and I immediately responded. I told them that I got married, then stayed in a commune, then worked out of the country and do not have a TV. I wrote an affidavit, I went to see VVM at their offices. Nothing happened. Then they moved to other lawyers and the same harassment started all over again. To date I am still struggling to sort this out. Their website constantly has a technical error. One cannot even go there and check on your balance. Writing an e-mail to their department dealing with this does not help either as nobody ever comes back to you.
Now I am paying for my daughter's licence who is overseas, only so that she does not have to have the same problem. Any other suggestions???
