I wanted to purchase goods at Airport Pets, Pomona Rd Kempton Park on 29 January 02014 and was informed that they do not accept the old R100 note, according to them their bank is not accepting them. I find this very hard to belief as I actually obtained this from an ABSA ATM that same morning.
What is even more frustrating is that they did not even attempt to research this as a normal google search would indicate that this is not true - is this little bit of effort too much to ask as a customer. I find it not only as extremely bad service to their customers but would also like to find out what right they have to refuse a legal banknote of this country - something they should perhaps answer to the Reserve Bank
