I completed my tax return two years ago months before the deadline. Tax Techniques is my tax consultant which I pay a proper fee for, for submitting my tax returns. Three months AFTER the deadline I phoned SARS regarding an update and my return was never submitted by Tax Techniques so I had to pay a R500 fine! I phoned all their numbers for weeks without any response. They don't get back to you AT ALL, Bernard doesn't answer his cellphone and you cannot leave a voicemail, so I had to get into my car and drive 50km's to go to their offices. I phoned just before arriving at their office and was told that he is out of office. 5 minutes later when I arrived there he was in his office, so they blatantly lie!!! Last year I gave them my tax return in detail on 12 November and asked them to submit it in E-filing before the end of November. I phoned SARS yesterday, 16 Jan. only to be told that nothing has been submitted for me, and my provisional tax return is late as well. I have made approximately 20 phone calls yesterday and was completely ignored. When I received an sms they promised to look into it today and give me feedback today - NOTHING once again. STAY AWAY FROM TAX TECHNIQUES!!!
