Invoice and Statement amounts diffe

I received a statement indicating the amount I owe. In a second envelope, I received a copy tax invoice for a slightly different amount - Both with the same VPC account ID and Tax invoice ref number.
Which amount should be paid?
Could it b due the Gazette error which indicates different amounts between the English and Afrikaans versions, confusing me further!
