Shocking attitude from Postmaster at Newton Park

I went to collect a registered letter addressed to my husband at Newton Park Post Office as he is a farmer and leaves for work before the post office opens and arrives home after it closes. Having had problems with them before he gave me his ID doc for reference. I stood in the queue for about 25minutes as the staff are incredibly slow and every transaction takes them about 7-10 minutes even something simple like delivering a letter or paying a bill. Needless to say there are only 2 cashiers open even though the licencing dept, which is not core post office business has at least 5-6 staff working there at the same snail's pace, when I eventually arrived to collect the reg letter the cashier refused to give it to me even though I had my husbands ID. I then called the Postmaster and he gave me the same run around. He knows me well as I have on many previous occasions complained about their shocking service as we have had this post box for about 35 years.
Why would I need a letter from my husband when I have his ID with me?? Is that not proof enough that he has asked me to collect the letter for him?? The staff at N.Park P.O are useless and obtuse filtering down from the Postmaster.
