Lodged a complaint, no reponse

I went to collect a registered letter for my wife, when I came to the post office I was told to have my wife's ID document (which I do understand), I had to go home in the rain and collect the letter again. However when my wife went to collect a registered letter for me a week before, she was assisted without any hassles. There was no consistancy in their policy and I submitted a form of grievance, the post master / supervisor was not on duty that day. I was not contacted with regard to this although it was mentioned that the supervisor will be in on the Monday.
