This is to be a warning to all lenders and land lords. Ms Vernita Reddy has a bad track record of not paying and has been listed with 8 judgements against her in the past 2 years for not paying loans and other people. She came to us under the pretence of being a chistian divorced mother of two, and she needs a break in live.
Against our better judgment, we signed a rental lease with her for 12 months. Two months in she stopped paying and dodged us when trying to reach her. We resorted to waiting at the house to give her a termination notice for breach of contract. She asked for 3 months to leave and that she will pay every month on time.
Never happened and at the end of April 2013 she was supposed to be out. She did not leave and told us that she must be evicted and she will not leave. She called the police stating I am evicting her, she lodged a spoiliation order against me and took me to the Gauteng Rental Tribunal.
All of this to prolong her illegal stay and cost us even more loss. After 3 months now and major legal fees we got the eviction hearing date for this month. Now that the heat is on, she is trying to "escape" the impeding judgements by removing her stuff at night.
