My company had just succesfully registered as an importer/exporter so we were looking for clearing agents. The first company that comes up when one does a Google search is Trade Ocean. Inititally point of contact was encouraging. They actually responded same day. I received a query for exporting to Dar es Salaam/Tanzania and forwarded all the info as requested i.e. weight, dimensions of shipment, destination port etc. The email was read, but no response. My Telkom lines were down so I never actually spoke on the phone, but I find it appaling that no effort whatsoever was made to return my numerous requests. If their policy is not to venture into Africa, then they are not clearing agents in my opinion.
