I put in an offer to purchase a property in 2010, a new development which up do that has never been build after numerous enquiries with the developer. Was advised by the developer in July that deal to build Forest Crest had fallen through & I as the purchaser could cancel the deal & get my refund of the deposit back plus interest from the attorney's office. I therefore proceeded with the process to get a refund & was advised by Casper office manager/PA (Antoinette) to come through to their offices in Weltervredenpark to sign a refund form, I would also be required to produce an ID document. On 26/07/2013 I went to their offices & was assisted by an Indian lady, who produced a refund form which required a completion of my personal details, details of the property sale that needed to be cancelled & my banking details. On the very same form, there is an admin fee of R250.00. Refund was processed effeciently, however, the admin fee charged was R500. When I enquired with Casper, I was reduly informed that I would not get a refund as the charge is as per Law Society rules. In assence, I have to pay for their office admin error. i signed for R250.00 not R500.00.
