On 29/12/2013 I moved out of a property in Centurion that is managed by City Property. The exit inspection was done the following day.
Today (14/01/2014) I phoned City Property to enquire about the refund of my deposit. I was informed (by Ntando Mashiqa) that:
1. I am not allowed to query my account or the status of my refund before a 6 week period has passed
2. An exorbitant amount was charged to my account for electricity usage as City Property is 2 months behind on meter readings. I was therefore charged for 3 months usage at one instance.
3. My account is managed by the Admin dept. and I'm not allowed to speak with them!
After requesting to speak with her manager, I spoke with Solomon who eventually gave me a number to call in the Admin dept. There is no answer when trying to call this number.
The lack of interest in their clients' affairs combined with a completely inefficient system and non-transparent processes makes City Property one of the worst property management companies I have ever dealt with.
There is still no clarity as to when my deposit will be refunded.
