Poor finance department

Deeply saddened and humiliated by dealings around my account with Discovery Health.
My account was paid up in February 2013; after receiving a letter from Discovery after the fact, claiming that my account is outstanding, I followed up and spoke to a lady by the name of Renata. After sending her my proof of payments, she informed me that although the bank account and reference number is wrong (this was supplied by Discovery), she'll make sure it gets sorted out and send me a letter stating that I paid up. Like a fool, I took her word for it and forgot about it. Since then I have applied for a home loan, which is currently being interrupted since they picked up bad debt in owing Discovery.
I am not a person to make debt I can't pay, the reason the issue with Discovery was extended was due to me being retrenched. But I paid it up before they could hand me over and now I am in a position of shame in front of my future creditors. Phoned on Friday, 26 April 2013 to follow up on this matter, a lovely gentlemen by the name of Rushaan did everything in his power to solve the situation that afternoon, but I am yet to receive a "paid up" letter or any progress report. Patience is wearing..
