My son was rushed to the emergency room at hospital on the night of the 22 April 2013 and a drip was administered. I sent an email 8 hours after to get an authorisation number in order to make sure there were no delays. I received an email from Fedhealth stating that the bill will not be covered based on scheme rules. Fedhealth covers emergency treatment where intravenous, medication is administered. I refuse to pay the bill and if Fedhealth does not pay the hospital bill I will look at legal recourse in this regard. A monthly tariff of R3250.00 which is rarely used seems useless if on the odd occasion when it's used I have to write complaints and/or emails to make sure that the bill is covered. This is becoming a tiresome chore of which being the third time seems to me a chance taken by the medical aid company to pass the buck onto their subscribers!!
