I joined Fedhealth medical scheme from July 2012. Case number 1: My Wife was rushed to Flora Clinic hospital, as she felt dizzy at work, and had a migraine, Fedhealth refused admission but recommended and authorised that she be taken to Fourways Life, the medical aid refused to pay the bill for the hospital and specialist thereafter. The reason was not enough information given... The specialist ran a few tests, then wanted to do an MRI scan, which he did not proceed with due to Fedhealth declining the procedure. This was understandable, but to not pay the bill for admission for testing was unfair, as they recommended and preauthorised the admission.
Case 2: I also went for a mammogram due to a growth on my chest, at a network doctor authorised by a consultant before, They refused to pay this bill as well.
We are now sitting with 3 bills that we cannot pay. I subsequently changed jobs and the medical aid was thus terminated February 2013. They then changed the excuse for not paying to the fact that the cover has been terminated, but these 2 incidents happened prior to this in 2012. So where is the money that I paid for 8 months. As I only have these 3 claims.
