In December I decided to change from my Fedhealth hospital plan to join my husbands Fedhealth day to day savings plan. The documentation was completed and sent through to Fedhealth in the last week of December.
After receiving no correspondence as to the change, I then contacted Fedhealth in the second week of January to follow up. I was informed that my scheme had not yet been cancelled, and that this was the delay in my joining my husbands scheme as a beneficiary. I was assured my scheme would be cancelled and I would be covered under my husbands scheme from 1 February 2013.
I then received an SMS a few days later confirming my cover was cancelled.
Once again, no further correspondence was received and on enquiry 5/2/13 I was informed that my application is still with the membership department and that I was currently not covered by ANY medical aid!
As a professional working in the medical field I find this completely unacceptable. I followed all the correct procedures to ensure I would not be without medical aid during this transition. I was ensured that I would be covered by my husbands medical aid upon termination of my scheme.
Very disappointed,
