Fedhealth and Gap Covers

I have Gap Cover through my broker, to assist with shortfalls on medical payments.
When submitting a claim to Fedhealth previously an automated system advised that Fedhealth makes little allowance for GAP covers - firstly taking the monies from ones savings, and then requesting a motivation document that may be denied or approved by Fedhealth to allow one to use their Gap cover..

Please can Fedhealth advise what criteria Fedhealth is using to base why I may or may not use my gap cover, and where this is covered in my policy?
