I applied for my daughter to be added as a dependant on my mediacal aid with Discovery. I've send an email to Discovery with the application form. After not getting a response from Discovery I contacted them only to find out 1 page was not signed. I then email the application again.
My daughter fell ill on 11 March 2012 (She turned 1 year on 25 feb 2013) and I inquired if the application can be processed earlier in case she needed to be taken to the hospital. About - 9 months before my daughter was in a state hospital due to bronchitis. I was informed that Discovery's underwriters request a doctor's diagnoses before they can proceed adding my daughter to my account. That evening my daughter's fever subsided and she started showing signs of recovery. We didn't take her to the doctor.
I spoke to Discovery again on Friday (05 April 2013) and was informed by the consultant that the underwriters require a doctor's diagnoses before anything could be processed. I informed them that it's total stupidity to expect me to take my healthy daughter to get a diagnoses that she's sick. Please help as I'm talking to a brickwall. All I want is to have my daughter on my medical aid.
