Discovery Health
Waiting period for a child dependant

It is extremely frustrating trying to add dependants on Discovery Health Medical Scheme to be told that the dependant's will be on waiting period for 3 months.
The dependants were on Bankmed medical aid for a number of years. My daughter's mom was hospitalised in the past 24 months. Obviously resulted from one of the question on their application forms, which reads "Has any of the dependant's been hospitalised in the past 12 months", obviously since my daughter's mom was, the answer was "yes".
Only to be told that a 3 month waiting period will be imposed to both of them. My daughter was never hospitalised, but because of her mom, it is mutually inclusive. How unfortunate for my daughter. Why must my daughter suffer as a result of her mom? The question you ask yourself, the procedure (medical check-up) my spouse was hospitalised for, gave her a good clean of health, no financial or medical risk for future. There is no chronic medication prescribed subsequent to the procedure.
So I requested that it will be proper to pay for two medial aids (i.e. my spouse maintain her Bankmed), whiles waiting for the 3 months period to lapse, I am told it is illegal, my loved one's must be at risk
