On 30 April 2013, I took my daughter to the specialist (ENT) as she has been battling to breath, has re-occurring ear infection, & high temps. A referral was previously completed by the GP and submitted to Discovery. Discovery did not authorise the Specialist consultation, so I took my daughter to the ENT and paid cash, as I was very worried about her. The ENT examined her, and immediately wanted to admit my daughter for an operation to remove her adenoids. The ENT also got on the phone to discovery, and explained how much pain my little girl was in, discovery refused to admit my child. On the same day, I took my daughter to the GP to complete a second referral. On 07 May 2013, Discovery disregarded the referral again. I then took my daughter back to the GP on 07 May 2013 to re-submit the referral, and we are still waiting for authorisation for my daughter to have the operation. The GP and the ENT also stated "Discovery is being rediculous, this little girl is suffering"! Now, Discovery, you tell me, HOW MUCH LONGER IS MY LITTLE GIRL OF 23 MONTHS, GOING TO SUFFER!!! The GP and ENT wouldn't have tried to get her admitted for the op if it wasn't necessary. INCONSIDERATE PEOPLE YOU ARE!!!
