Drop in service level

I had a car accident and was taken in an ambulance to the hospital. At the hospital Discovery was called and I was told that I will need to settle the bill upfront but that Discovery will pay me back. I called Discovery the next day to confirm this and I spoke to a Joe who told me as long as I fax it to them and it is clear I will be paid back. I wasn't paid back the money so I called in to follow up. Their response to me was that because I was not half dead and that I was conscious they will not pay for it. I was under the impression that in an emergency I can go to any hospital or Dr? Is a car accident not an emergency? I have now had flu for 2weeks and I went to the same Dr I have been going to for over a year now, he diagnosed me with URTI. The Dr's rooms phoned me this morning to tell me I need to pay the account as medical aid has refused to pay because I did not go to my chosen network Dr. Again this is the same Dr I have been going to and claiming for for over a year? There are 2 more incidents but I am running out of space. I am disgusted by the drop in service level as I have never had a problem with Discovery before and recently it has just been endless problems
