We thought we were signing up for our medical aid through Bankmed. It turns out that instead we were signing up with a separate company called CareCross who Bankmed outsources some of their plans too. The way the information is laid out on the Bankmed website, in its PDF's & video is such that it appears that CareCross is a 'network' of Bankmed (ie part of Bankmed). All the forms my wife signed said 'Bankmed'. We checked with Bankmed before looking at the plans to see if our GP, Gynecologist, Hospital etc were listed as suppliers. If not we would have looked at other medical aids such as Discovery, Medihelp, Momentum, Profmed to see who covers our Doctors. We are not willing to move Doctors.
The pharmacy we use, Medicare Greenhill has a big sign stating that they support Bankmed members, we tried to purchase medication and it was rejected because we are not part of Bankmed?!
Our GP is part of Bankmed, however our claim was rejected as we are not part of Bankmed?!
Now we find out that we are not with Bankmed but with a separate company CareCross who has a different list of doctors.
