This Easter weekend we stayed at Ravineside in the Entabeni Private game reserve where we were promised 4 star facilities and service. After dealing with a snarky booking agent, Anique at African Vintage I felt I should be grateful that she even managed to secure me accomodation. After an awful nearly 5 hour drive from Pretoria when all advertising says less than 3 from Jhb, we were horrified at the lack of maintenance of the rooms, from blood on the sheets to blinds unable to open, blocked toilet and mice running over us while we tried to sleep. The buffet food cold, below average and inedible. The saving grace was the staff, but clearly there is a lack of support from the management of Legend Lodges thus leading to a lethargy and dispondent atmosphere. A disgrace that they advertise and charge 4 star rates but deliver 1 star! A review of their star status should be conducted. Sadly alot of guests were from Europe and this is what South Africa sells to them as 4 star quality! An insult to me and to our country.
