I had a shoulder operation on 06/02/13, was requested to settle the Orthopaedic Surgeons invoice on discharge, 07/02/13, which was done. Submitted the statement & proof of payment 2 weeks post op via a drop box situated outside the Physiotherapist's parctise, as I was limited to driving. 3 weeks later & the claim has not been processed. I followed up with the claims department on Monday, 25/03/13 to be told that the claim was not received & the box was not supplied by Discovery but was requested by the physio which affects receipt of the claim - phoned the physio & they confirmed that the dropbox was emptied EVERY Monday. The original claim has gone missing, tried resubmitting the claim but kept on receiving messages that the claim mailed direct from the Orthopaedic's Surgeons offices was unreadable or dates were cut off - the doctor's offices have been asked 4 x times to resend the statement. I phoned Discovery again today, my call reaches the PE branch to be told that the query has been logged but never escalated. Yet again, I'm awaiting feedback on the receipt of the claim which again was requested from the doctor's directly. SHOCKING services from a reputable medical provider!!
