I submitted a dental claim for R600 on 25/3/13.I went to the dentist on 21/11/12. I settled the account and submitted the claim for R600 on 25/3/13 (4 months and 4 days after 21/11). This was done so Discovery would not pay the claim but it should reflect on my profile that the claim was submitted and not paid. Discovery however chose to pay me R333.40 (from my 2013 savings) and increase my self payment gap by R330.39. It clearly states on their website that claims have to be submitted within 4 months from date of visiting the doctor. This claim has now actually cost me R930.38. I called to have the claim reversed but was informed by the call centre and the team leader (Kyle Raw) that the claim has to be retracted by the dentist. The dentist did not submit the claim, I DID. I settled his account so he has nothing to do with this. The claim was submitted after 4 months so it should not be paid! Discovery chooses which claims to pay so they can rip clients off. I would appreciate feedback and a reversal of this claim!
