I'm a Discovery Health member and I gave birth by c-section which was not by choice. I was admitted to the ER a few days prior to giving birth on the 3rd January 2013 whereby the Dr had said that I have a heart problem and we needed to deliver the baby asap but the gynae decided other wise and I was discharged, 5 days later I was re-admitted for a c-section. My son and I where discharged 3 days later. The hospital has since contacted me saying that my medical aid required the gynae's motivation for the c-section which my gynae sent through. I called several times trying to makes enquiries regarding the payment of my hospital bill but I was told that the hospital had not claimed, I therefore went to the hospital and Christelle re-sent it including the gyane's motivation as previously requested. The medical aid still has not paid and the hospital has said that I'm liable to pay the hospital bill. I have suspended my medical aid and trying to resolve this matter so that I can resume my cover. I would lilke to know if this is how Discovery Health assists their clients in what is supposed to be their happiest moments? I'm deeply hurt, I haven't been able to enjoy being a first time mom
