My husband was admitted to Hospital on 01 January 2013. He had a rare virus which we did not know at the time, his lungs were collapsing and various other organs taking tremendous strain. It was a public holiday and had been to see his GP the day before. Due to the fact that it was a public holiday, he was unable to go back to his GP as their offices were closed, so he phoned him. His GP phoned the hospital and let them know that we were on our way and phoned the specialist that was on duty and let him know the same. Between then and now, who knows what went wrong. Discovery is refusing to pay for anything; he was in hospital for 4 days. Discovery can tell me why they won't pay, but they can't tell me what to do to fix it. They will not hear my story. Logically - I have a hospital plan, my husband was in hospital = pay the hospital? If they don't pay his hospital bill, then why do I have a hospital plan? - Can anybody recommend a medical plan. I now have to pay the hospital myself including the doctor and all the blood test? This is going to cripple me financially. I will have to cancel my medical aid in order to find the funds to pay all the debt. Its really ridiculous.
