Authorisations Differ With Different Consultants

My broker called Discovery earlier this year and had got a pre authorisation for a procedure that is scheduled for my child, we were even sent an Authorisation number. Now one week prior to the procedure taking place i called the broker annd asked them to reconfirm with an email from Discovery that the procedure is going to be covered as with experience in the past with previous incidents that i had where other procedures were approved but at the end i was the one still being left with a bill to settle, now get told that they retracting the authorisation. How unprofessional is this, when asked why, the reason given is that it should have not been approved in the 1st place. How can 1retract an authorisation for a procedure that has been approved and a week before decline it. All they want is just to take your money and not even settle bills in full. Whats a point of having a medical plan if you are always paying your premiums and not given what you have been promised.
I have been with them for the past 9years and have not missed one payment, please can you Discovery Educate your staff and stop short changing us paying customers.
