DISCOVERY HEALTH!!! Some of their doctors cannot think for themselves. On 27 Nov 2013 Discovery consultant Zaba confirmed that authorisation (No:15504214) was given for my wife to be hospitilised on 3 December. She confirmed no letter of motivation was needed from the Orthopedic Surgeon. This authorisation was confirmed by Discovery via sms. The hospital phoned on 2nd November 17H00 to inform us that the authorisation was not approved by Discovery on the system. All arrangements were made - theater booked, Anaesthesiologis, etc. We phoned Discovery and a consultant (Faith) who confirmed the authorisation after spoken to her supervisor Rentia once again confirmed the authorisation for the second time and confirmed the same reference number. They agreed to update the system which they did not do. An hour later the hospital informed us that the system still do not reflect authorisation. When we phoned Discovery again, we were informed by Faith that she made a mistake and some funny discovery doctor cancelled the procedure with considering the implications of his decision. Discovery did not even had the decency to inform us that the procedure was cancelled.
