My husband call Momentum Health on 28th January twice trying to find out what the procedure is to get authorisation for a scheduled hospital visit at mid-February. He was informed telephonically we simply need to go visit our network GP to get a referral letter and then obtain authorisation which should not take very long. I called the network GP (Dr Nainkin, Hasson and Salinder in Bellville) and was informed by a very rude receptionist that they wont issue an authorisation letter until the 6th month of my pregnancy. According to the Momentum website, I am allowed to see a gynaecologist between 8 - 20weeks of becoming pregnant.
I then emailed Momentum on the same date 28 January, finally received a reply on 1 February just confirming I need to get a letter of referral and obtain authorisation from my network GP. Now how can I do this when I have to deal with a receptionist at my network GP's surgery who does not want to put me through to the Doctor on duty to verify and give me a letter of referral/authorisation?
I am disgusted at the way I am being treated and even paid upfront my medical for the full year for 2013!
Disgusted and Annoyed
