I first took medical aid out with momentum in 2010. Due to financial reason we had to go off medical aid for a period in 2013. When finances came right we then reapplied with momentum in my partners name in Oct 2013. Since we have reapplied we have had to get authorisation for our children 3 times. The first for my daughter for grommets, the second time for my daughter to get anethetised for an ABR (and the ABR was not even charged for!), and now a third time for my son to get grommets. My son got grommets in 2012 and recently came out. He got ear infection in January and went to the ENT who tried to clear the eardrums. Unfortunately they are just getting worse and he need grommets again. Now medical aid is asking for clinical history forms to be filled out AGAIN before authorisation can take place (if they authorise). These are all unforeseen operations we are encountering. Momentum was happy to take our money before when we hardly claimed and now that we need them there is a problem around every bend. I get charged by all the doctors for filling out the forms and pay so much above what medical aid cover as it is. We are now looking into other medical aids. I am tired of momentum!
