My wife and myself had to get new glasses, For the 2 pairs of glasses I have to pay in over R4000.00. When I found out I have R20, 000.00 in my savings account, when I requested why does my savings pay for additional amount, I was told that the savings does not cover glasses. On a second call I was told that there was a form that I have to fill in and then the committee will make a decision. the money is not theirs but mine and why can I not decide how to use the money as long as it is medically related. I do not abuse the medical aid and just as a matter of fact about R7000.00 of this money came from Fedhealth when I was forced to change. I have now submitted the forms but still have to wait for the committee to decide.
I pay MY money part of my subs into the savings account - it is not their money they only administer it on my behalf, but they think they are paying out of their own pockets.
