Recently visited an optometrist in Durban and had contact lenses and glasses prescribed.
Discovery paid all the bills initially then reverted to demanding the money back from my optometrist.
they indicated that my optometry benefits were exceeded and that they will not pay the difference. Now my optometrist is looking to me for payment.
I have sufficient savings available and im on the executive scheme SO why didn't Discovery pay the difference from my savings???
further to this, we pay exhorbitant monthly amounts and in most cases don't utilise our full range of benefits every year, does Discovery or any other medical aid give us our money back or carry over our benefits???
