Spectramed
Product Sold under false pretences

I signed up with Spectramed in August. We asked a bunch of questions when signing up as we were planning to start a family. I specifically asked Chris if I can upgrade my medical aid at any time if and when I fall pregnant. His answer was yes. I took the hospital plan Aqua as I'm not a sickly person and do not visit the doctors that often. I found out that I am pregnant almost two weeks ago phone Chris an requested an upgrade. Here the issues started. Now I have to get a special permission from the board of trustees to upgrade, as they only upgrade once a year. Why did Chris not mention this. We are told to relax. I complained to Chris that he sold me a product under false pretences and putting unnecessary stress on me, he then sent an sms which said: That I need to go pay a doctor if I need to for a check up or go to a government hospital if I cant afford it. My husband then phoned him, he was very rude and then hung up the phone while my husband talked to him. This is unacceptable and I need to upgrade me medical aid to pay for future doctors appointments and scans. I hold Spectramed completely liable for this, as there sales reps clearly are not educated about the product they are selling.
