Yesterday I went to watch a 17h45 show of Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom @ SK Southgate with my 8-yr old and a friend. My 8-yr old and I are both Discovery Health, Discovery Vitality (8 yrs) & Discovery Life members and upon swiping our SK/Vitality cards, only my card qualified for a Vitality discount but my 8 yr-old's card reflected as invalid thus I had to pay R27 for him.
I have been on Vitality for over 10 years, my son has been on Vitality since he was born and we have watched movies many times before yesterday without any glitches as I've never defaulted on any of my Discovery products payments. When I questioned SK Southgate about the efficiency of their system as I showed them my Vitality card which bears both (my son & I) our names, they advised me that they've had countless problems with this 'under 18 FREE before 7 pm' and it always points back to Discovery's inefficiency.
The explanation kind of made sense since my card didn't give any problems, it was only the supposed-to-be-FREE ticket that cost me R27. What also incensed me more is that inside the movie house, they aired an advert which makes these false claims about under 18 FREE before 7pm. This is a!
