I booked and paid for accommodation at the resort - a total of R 10 010, not pocket change.
I fully understand cancellation policies but due to unforseen circumstances had to cancel my booking - I was then told that I will only be refunded 50 % of the total, which I fully understand if they did not get anyone else to replace the cancelled booking, however a day after I cancelled I let them know we will keep ourbooking but was told that they are now fully booked so they are now receiving full payment for the accommodation I originally booked and also keeping my R5005 - they say it is their cancellation policy... really, I would like to understand what validates keeping that amount of money when they are in fact not losing anything on this booking.
As explained I understand if they lost customers due to no booking and would have lost money - but they are losing nothing - as a matter of fact they are gaining an additional R5005 for no reason other than "policy"... is it right to do people in like this - believe me if I had a choice I would not have cancelled, it is was due to a matter beyond my control - who pays R10 010 and cancels on purpose just to lose your money...
