First week of October I contacted a Bestmed broker and advised him that I wanted to leave my medical aid and join bestmed. I sent through my application and advised that I needed to put a month's notice to my current medical aid. early November I realised I was expecting which probably meant conception happened mid October.i needed to be admitted as I was sick but they turned it down because they said I should have declared in my application that I was expecting. Funny because conception had not even happened when I applied. They sent final confirmation that they won't cover me before I could send a doctor's report . funny enough they have proof of my option in my previous medical aid and they know it had the same maternity benefits as Bestmed. Why would I have risked listing the benefits if I knew I was pregnant. Bestmed is just happy to take our money and plays me for a fool.
