REFUSE TO NOTE MY SONS DATE OF BIRTH CORRECTLY

I've had my medical aid with Discovery since 1996. Paid my way and did what was needed. My son was born in 2007 and hospital bill paid by Discovery. I immediately added my son as a dependent and explained that
my son's birth certificate had one digit incorrect on birth date caused by the Department of Home affairs. Typing error. (instead of born in August they typed July??)

so after several fights with home affairs we managed to have them amend the month from July to August that was the only error. I supplied Discovery with the revised birth certificate and they now refuse to change the date of birth on Discovery system without a letter from the Department confirm same??? Like hello can discovery not see my son was born and Discovery PAID for it too. Its really been frustrating to try and speak to any of the consultants or Management for the matter. How do they pay for my sons birth yet will not rectify his date of birth error caused by home affairs.
My concern is what if something happens does it mean I have no cover?? why cant anybody help!!!
