I am appalled by Discovery In fact I am disgusted that such a reputable company can prove to be so incompetent and nonclient centric. I was hospitalised 3 weeks ago and just before I was discharged from Hospital I was advised that I have to pay R2 200 because my medical aid will not pay for a colonoscopy and andoscopy. I then sent through a motivation letter from the doctor requesting for the amount to be paid and the response I received said it will not be paid because there was no report received and therefore no abnormalities were picked up. I then sent through the reports and yesterday I received another decline this time without a reason. Why was I given the impression that if I supply a report then my claim will be paid? My allocation is R3420.00 per year and from that I have to pay out R2 200.00 for certain procedures carried out in hospital, so a my not supposed to get sick during the year? This is a sick joke from Discovery. Your company enjoys receiving money from clients but paying out is obviously another issue all together. There has to be exceptions. If I had known about this predicament I would have opted to go home and die instead of relying on my medical aid.
