My wife hired a car using our Discovery Vitality discount on the Kulula website. However a R66 "Document Administration Fee" was invoiced by Europcar after we returned the car.
We rented a small car, for one day, so it added 25% to the quoted amount, after our Vitality discount.
Although I am on Diamond status, my discount was effectively far smaller than the discount I am entitled to, because of this fee. Furthermore, I may have looked for a cheaper deal elsewhere if I had known about this fee.
Also. those on lower Vitality statuses are at an even bigger disadvantage because of this hidden "document administration fee".
Although I found some small print on the Discovery website about this fee, after the fact, I urge you to include this amount in all quotes upfront, as the manner that this standard hidden cost is charged by Europcar reflects poorly on Discovery and Vitality, and prevents fair and honest price comparisons between car rental quotes; and I would personally request some redress for this hidden fee.
