I had to make a payment for a scope before the procedure took place, but didn't. Arrangements were made to pay it on the follow up consultation, whereby the payment was made. Consequently, the day before my follow up consultation, the practice had made a claim for the amount of R 1, 688.20 from my medical aid without my knowledge or consent. They also mention that it is your responsibility to claim from the m/aid. As a result I ended up paying an amount of R 4, 488.20 which according to my knowledge is completely incorrect as both my parents and sister went for the same procedure a month before I went for mine. I have tried contacting the practice in order to obtain a statement and to speak to Jeanine in accounts, however every time I phone there is an excuse put forward for her absence. She is either in an unscheduled meeting ALL day or she is on lunch, or she is on leave, or she just popped out of the office. My calls AND e-mails are being ignored and I feel it is EXTREMELY unprofessional given the image and reputation which this practice likes to portray. I have still to date not received ANY correspondence from the practice and have no choice but to report here on hellopeter.
