THE PARAMEDIC SAID I WNT B BILLED AND I GOT BILLED

On the 17Th of July 2013, I was travelling in a taxi and the taxi got involved in a accident, no one was badly injured, we were all able to walk and stand. a Netcare911 ambulance arrived on the accident scene, one of the paramedics asked if any of the passengers were injured, it was 5 of us who had minor pains and advised him about that, he suggested that we get to the ambulance and will take us to the hospital and the nearest hospital was about 15km away from the scene, I was aware that should we agree to be taken to the hospital with an ambulance there will be a cost involved my friend whom I was with and travelling in the same taxi asked the paramedic if we will pay to be taken to the nearest hospital, the paramedic said "NO" they will claim from the Road Accident fund (Govt) not from us, we asked because my friends husband was on his way to the accident scene and was going to take us to the hospital for a check up. The paramedic assured us that we will not be billed for being taken to the hospital, with that being said we agreed to get to the ambulance, a month later after the accident I received a letter from netcare911 that states I owe R1.700.76
I dont have that money.
