I was involved in a motorcycle accident 03/12/11, when i came to my senses there was a ambulance and family members on scene. I was walking and communicating but in pain, when it was time for me to go to hospital a family member was taking me and the paramedics insisted i go in the ambulance. I was not aware that it was a private service. a few days later my fiance gets a call about an outstanding balance of - R1300, when i was contacted i informed them that the paramedics insisted i go with the ambulance when i could have gone with a family member I also questioned the fact that i did not request the ambulance and why was i not informed of the costs before hand. My fiance paid R600 to netcare as i am unemployed since the accident. I received a call today stating if i do not pay the balance i will be blacklisted. Why did the Netcare paramedics not inform me of the cost but instead insist i go in the ambulance knowing full well i could have gone with a family member. I am highly disappointed that netcare 911 mislead me so they could bill a hefty charge. Its all about the money and not the injured as the actions by netcare paramedics clearly did not have my best interests
