My Virgin Active gym membership was cancelled after 5 years due to me allegedly not meeting requirement of going to the gym 36 times in a 12 month period. I advised Discovery that i used an alternate gym (kingspark) during June 2013 and they wanted proof. I had to run around to obtain proof that i did visit the gym but with no luck. I advised the gym to pull out camera footage but was told it was too far back. The gym in this instant was at fault as the person that grants access obviously did something wrong, they only picked up 1 visit whereas i had visited that specific gym 4 times during June. The reason i used another gym is because i received an sms sometime in June advising there was a problem with hot water and members can use alternative branches. The lady from Discovery, (Waylene) contacted me on Friday to say that she checked with my gym (westville) and they say there was no problem with the water (in other words i am a) and the gym membership will be cancelled and i must speak to the gym to sort out, which i had already done. I will be cancelling all my policies and make sure my family does the same and anyone else i can convince because of discoverys attitude.
