My brother has been back and forth from Hospital to hospital for the past 5 months and still has not had any service. The South Rand referred him to the Oncology dept of the JHB Gen hospital months ago. They sent him back to South Rand where he has been admitted twice for a couple of days. Nothing could be done there as they do not have a Oncology dept. Eventually the South Rand took him to the Baragwanath where a CT scan was done. It was discovered that he had various tumours and needed Chemo and radiation. He was sent back to the South Rand who can not help him. The Dr at South Rand once again made a appointment with the JHB Gen. They had the nerve to send him back to the South Rand, only for them to make another appointment to see a Dr Stuwig at the JHB Gen tomorrow. Now my question is how many times will he be sent up and down without the JHB Gen that has all the facilities there to assist him, actually take action and start taking care of him. He is terminally ill. Will he have to die before the JHB Gen actually does their job? He is in such pain he can hardly walk, not to mention the hospital has no wheel chairs...
