I phoned Gems this morning to follow up on a claim of one of our patients. Msuthukazi who assisted me with this was so rude when I had to help another patient with an appointment, and told me that I am not allowed to help anyone when on a call with her and that I am not allowed to ask her to hold for one minute to help someone else!! The service and attitude at Gems are shocking!! I cant believe that rude people are allowed to work for a medical aid and deal with people every day. these disgruntled employees make life unpleasant and insufficient information is provided. The fact that you have to speak to different people and go through and be put on hold to confirm benefits are ridiculous, no other medical aid does this. Gems will have to change their bad attitude and service quickly as they are getting a really bad reputation in the medical sector.
