Call number 5 to GEMS now to assist a client in getting their fees reimbursed. They are telling our client that our practice is closed, which is most definitely not the case. Every time I call the person I am put through to isn't in the correct department so transfers me to another person, this person also isn't the correct department so transfers me to someone else who I explain the situation to again (as I have to do each time I speak to a new person) who without a word transferred me to another person. This person tells me that it is another place that deals with my query and I am on hold for another 15 mins for the person that answers to tell me that it is GEMS I should be talking to about this. 5 TIMES I HAVE MADE THE SAME PHONE CALL AND IT IS REALLY GETTING ME ANGRY THAT NOONE AT GEMS IS COMPETENT ENOUGH TO DEAL WITH AND RESOLVE A SIMPLE QUERY!!! Unfortunate that we will now have to tell our clients who are with GEMS that they will not be able to claim any costs for their visits and that if they were with any other medical aid they would receive payment without question. My advice to you, change medical aid, do not use GEMS.
