I submitted a complaint report on 29 June regarding the payment of a claim that was reversed more than a year later. The funds were taken from my account, funds which were supposed to go towards claims that I then needed to pay myself. I received feedback from Genevieve regarding the issue. More than a year after the procedure Discovery decided to change their policy and no longer pay for certain procedures done during an operation on my son. The funds were reversed and every time I ask for feedback, I am told that they are now waiting for the doctor. Now the blame has been passed to the doctor, who needs to explain to Discovery's medical board why the procedures were necessary and should be covered. I find it absolutely unacceptable that Discovery can change their policy this year and then still reverse claims from more than a year ago. If a policy changes there should be no effect on previous claims, only claims dated after the date of the policy change. I would like feedback on this issue ASAP.
