I received February this year stating that the terms of my contract had been changed - without me signing anything! The email reads that "By the end of August 2013 you would need to have at least 36 recorded visits in the previous 12 month period". Later on in the email there is a table, but as I have been 33 times by 31.07.2013, surely I need only another 3 visits by the end of August? Vitality is very clever as there is a lot of differences in the requirements throughout the email. Up until February, I only had to visit the gym at least 2X a month which I ensured happened. Surely the changes could only then take effect after the letter!!! You cannot send me an email in February and then require that I make up visits for the 12 months prior to this!
I spoke to someone at Vitality this afternoon and after a lengthy "argument" she put me through to someone who could "reinstate my contract". She did not tell me it was a Virgin Active employee and that the reinstatement meant a change to my original contract and I would now have to pay a monthly fee and joining fee - I know that Vitality is just trying to send a contradicting email so they can get money from me!
